Project Description: In my Topics in Graphic Design course, we were asked to choose a political or social issue that would be our focus for the whole semester. I chose Prison Reform because my minor is in Criminology, and I have become aware of how the justice system needs to change. Prison Reform is the attempt to improve conditions inside prisons, improve the effectiveness of a penal system, or implement alternatives to incarceration. The United States is currently the world’s leader in incarceration with North Carolina having the 31st-highest State incarceration rate. In this project, I was assigned to make a design or series based on the previous work I created that semester for Prison Reform. With research from playspent.org, I was able to create this app design series.
